Two hours of oil painting at the life drawing session tonight equals this. Clearly needs hours more work, but definitely a step in the right direction. Now if I could just get an all day painting going some time soon...
Anyhoo, let's get to the tunage. Another cracker from last year's SXSW - and we're not far off the next one - this track popped up while iTunes was on shuffle the other day and charmed my socks right off, the kind of track that you play again as soon as it's finished. It's by a group called Mobius Band who've already got a few albums out, and the below is the title track from last year's City Vs Country EP. A wee bit like The Postal Service or Broadcast if they rocked out a bit and cranked up the pace, or Interpol if they married Squarepusher.
City Vs Country (MP3, 4.4MB)
"It seemed like it was enough / But it's not ever enough, no" - tight drums, taut guitars, words of apathetic regret; just what you need at the wrong end of the week.
